CommonLit - Free Literacy Resources & Progress Tracking Tools

  • Led site expansion and transformation, culminating in $3.9 million U.S. Dept of Education grant in September 2016
  • Planned and developed crucial features to improve both internal and external user experience, including Elasticsearch-powered search page for our collection and responsive HTML view for texts
  • Led database migration and CMS design to allow content team to seamlessly and independently manage site content
  • Proposed, designed and implemented new site features, including footnote design & jump links for easier question-to-text navigation for students
  • Collaborated with CommonLit team and external designers to redesign site front page and improve site functionality for teacher and student users
